After studying architecture in Milan and worked for 8 years in London, Riccardo Monte decided to leave the city behind and go back in his hometown, Ornavasso, in the middle of Italian Alps. He spent the following six months in a mountain hut without electricity. The isolation and loneliness brought him closer to the values of nature and simple life. He has since settled his studio in Ornavasso with his partner Katie, who is a photographer and producer.
Riccardo made this cutting boards with a playful spirit. The shape of each piece is different, and the color and knots vary depending on the part of the wood. This piece is very thick to be a serving table and looks like a sculpture, which makes your kitchen more fun just by lifting it up when not in use.
